Our survey work gives students opportunities to share their opinions and thoughts on various aspects of learning, assessment, feedback and the student experience at MTU. Giving students opportunities to share their experiences is integral to our students feeling empowered as active members of MTU's learning community.

Feedback opportunities under this part of the programme include but are not limited to surveys, polls and StudentSurvey.ie.

CASE STUDY: As part of the Academic Success Coaching 1st year class visits, students are invited to complete a short survey to take a temperature check of how they're settling in, what they're enjoying and finding challenging of their first year experience.

==> To date (1/11/2020);

Key themes related to enjoyment: Enjoyment of course content, making some friends in class, excitement about future careers.

Key themes related to challenge: Length of time spent in front of screens, social isolation, missing out on the traditional college experience.

AnSEO use the information gathered from these surveys to inform how they meet the needs of first years students through Academic Success Coaching, Academic Learning Centre & Good Start.

CASE STUDY: MTU Library Learning Community wanted to better understand how MTU students find and use information to complete assignments.

==> A survey was completed by over 600 students from all four campuses giving great insight into how students use the library services and source information for assessments. The Library team will use the informaiton gathered from this survey to inform how they design their Online Educational Resources.
