Mentoring & Coaching at the Academic learning centre
Bishopstown Campus
If you feel you need some academic support, but you’re not sure where to start, book a 20-minute chat either in person or online, with one of our ALC staff. They’ll be able to point you in the right direction!
If you would like to have a more in-depth discussion about your study habits, motivations, time management, or any other aspect of your
university life, you may prefer a 40-minute academic coaching session.
Due to the coaching nature of the one-to-one meetings (coaching, mentoring and writing support), ALC staff have limited availability to provide immediate support. We recommend for students to book maximum of one meeting a week as this provides students with the opportunity to reflect on and engage with strategies and resources discussed during the meeting. The time between meetings is an important part of the coaching process, allowing students to build independence and to identify any upcoming challenges. Please note that any additional weekly bookings will be automatically cancelled unless an urgent need is identified and pre-arranged with ALC staff member.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
