Guess Who is Back?
Good Start returns each year at the beginning of Semester 2 to help students settle back into college after the winter break.
Good Start Semester 2 is all about re-orientation to college life at CIT. Just like Good Start at the start of the year there will be plenty of activities, events and competitions to get Semester 2 off to a Good Start!
Semester 2 commences on Monday 27th January 2020. There will be numerous events throughout the semester (similar to Semester 1) kicking off with Good Start Semester 2, other events include Innovation Week and the Student’s Union Equality Week and Seachtain na Gaeilge weeks. Unlike Semester 1 there is a two week break for Easter.
Semester 2 differs for every course and every student but remember, there is no need for concern about the first day back as you’ve completed Semester 1 and will easily find your way around again after a few days.
Be prepared for an increase in workload though! In Semester 2 you’ll find that the modules will start straight away and will move more quickly over new content. Attending every class will help keep you on top of the workload and is one of the most important things to do to if you want to have a successful Semester 2.
Forgotten where your classrooms are? Can’t remember how to use blackboard? Need some help figuring out your Semester 2 timetable? Don't sweat it, the Just Ask! desk returns during the first week to help you find your feet again. Don’t be shy, just ask! We were all in first year once, it's ok to ask for help, the Good Start Ambassadors are only delighted to help students get back into the swing of things.
The key dates are as follows;
- Semester begins: 27th January 2020
- Easter holidays: 6th April 2019 - 17th April 2020
- Week 13 - Study Week: 5th May 2020
- Exams begin: May 9th 2020
We look forward to meeting you again! In the meantime if you have any queries pop us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get back to you asap.
