Welcome to college!
When first year students are asked what they'd like to get out of their college experience, one answer is almost universal to all students - "a good degree".
Getting a good degree doesn't happen by magic. It takes hard work, motivation and a commitment to studying. One of the first steps in motivating yourself to be successful in college is to have a clear and specific understanding of what's required of you academically, and a clearly defined plan of how to get there.
The most striking change students encounter about third level education is the amount of time they must spend on private study. This requires a great deal of organisation and commitment, apart from attending lectures, labs, and possibly working part-time.
Here's what you need to do:
- Make your plan for academic success early
- Get into good academic habits from the beginning
- Seek out people and programmes to help you reach your goals here at CIT.
If you're willing to make the commitment, we're with you every step of the way.
